At thepark it takes just a fewminutes
to check inand receiveyourmandatory
wristband. Then it’s a short but scenicwalk to
aplatformwhereyouboard the chairlift ride
that takes you to the topof themountain.
The ride itself isquite spectacular. Through-
out the rideyouare treated to some
wonderful views includingbeingable to see
the ships anchored in theport. It probably
takes about 15minutes toget to the topof
themountainwhich is some700 feet above
whereyou started.
Asweprogressedup thehill I noticedhow
quiet everythinghadbecome. Itwas actually
quite refreshing. But thenasweneared the
topall of a sudden I heard the soundof beatingdrums… somuch for
peaceandquiet!
Of courseat theendof the rideyouhave tohopoff the chair andmove
quicklyaway from theplatform. The chairs keepmoving so if you’re
not quickenoughyoumight get caught. Unfortunately that’swhat
happened tome. I actually fell in front of the chair as Iwas gettingoff
and scrapedmyknee.
As it turnsout theyhaveamedical center and full-timenurseon the
premises. They tookme toher and shefixedupmywound. Although I
wish it hadn’t happened, perhaps thiswill bewelcomenews toanyof
youwhogo therewith children (or clumsyadults likeme) andmight be
concernedabout their safety.
